One of the houses most loved by keepers, and one that has received real care in recent years as their numbers fell and points of the standard began to slip. Like most Ghuzar it did not escape being crossed for various ends, which has produced a number of divergent forms. Medium head, rounded from behind and semi-round in front with an arch — the higher the arch, the more it reads as rounded in front, though never truly round like the Safi. Short broad beak in ashkah with matching nails and slightly thick white nostril wattle; round wide eye with some opening, olive iris and ruby ring; white eyelids of medium thickness; medium chest tapering to the rear, short small legs with short somewhat coarse toes, 35 cm on average, tight wing and broad strong feathering. Body wholly lustrous black except for the wing shield, which is white — the ideal being seven white feathers in each wing — and the underside must be closed, the belly running black to the vent.
