Ablaq Qeshr Bondoq

One of the best-known Ablaq strains. The description here is of the free or original Ishr Bondoq — what keepers call the Khanafes; the modern version has no agreed standard. It has roughly three sub-shades differing only in depth of colour. Brilliant white body with shoulders in a reddish brown exactly the colour of a hazelnut shell, and cheeks in a deep navy (kubya). The ideal cheek is called a lathe cheek. Black pupil, olive iris, speckled olive-green ring; eye set high in the head and drawn up and forward.
