Part 9 of the complete Ghuzar guide.
1. The post
Home tab ⇐ "+": text + several photos + link a bird (search by name or ring) — a linked post shows the bird's card with its photo, breed and number, and opens its file. A private bird is not shown to anyone but its owner even if the post is public.
The free plan has a monthly post limit — the figure is on subscriptions.
2. The feed and its scope
The scope button next to the bell: All · Following · My governorate. Ordering is by weight and recency. React with one tap (5 types), and comments have nested replies.
3. Following and saving
- Follow any breeder from their profile. You follow the official Ghuzar account automatically.
- Save a post, breed, disease or medication from the save icon — everything is under Saved with its tabs, synced on the server.
4. Chat
- One-to-one directly with no prior approval — from any user's profile ⇐ "Message".
- Groups (if shown to you): a group with admins, or a broadcast channel where only admins write.
- Chat is live with notifications. Photos are uploaded from inside the conversation.
5. Reporting and blocking
- Report a post, comment, user, bird, product or conversation — 7 reasons. 3 reports from different users = automatic hiding until the admins review.
- Block a user from their profile or from inside the chat: a full mutual block — no feed, no search, no messages, and if you are in the same group the blocked user does not see your messages.
6. Private accounts
Settings ⇐ Privacy ⇐ Private account: your content is for followers only (follow requests need approval). You can also hide your phone number, bird count and loft each separately.
7. Families
A family = a group of breeders (a real family, a club or a farm) with a page, a logo and a "belongs to" tag on every member's profile. Create a family from the Community tab, and join with an invite code or a request approved by the family owner. The family type is required (family · club · farm …) and visible to everyone.
8. Elections
Every governorate elects its committee from verified members — you get a voting invitation when it happens, one vote in a regular election. Committee members appear on the members page on the website.
