Absi Masri

One of the houses that has become very scarce, and correctly marked birds scarcer still — though some keepers have lately begun to take an interest in it. The head comes from behind in a light rotation where it meets the neck and tapers, and is arched in front. The beak is of the khayari type, medium in length and thickness, white with matching nails; round eye with a black pupil, white iris and a fine band of pale wine as the ring; white eyelids of medium thickness; medium chest, 35 cm on average. Body wholly black washed with henna, the henna deepening on the neck and wing shields.
