Part 2 of the complete Ghuzar guide. Every bird on Ghuzar is one record that lives with it from hatching to sale — so registering it properly from the start saves a lot of edits later.

1. Adding a bird

Loft tab ⇐ the "+" button. Required fields:

  1. Name — whatever you call it (you can search by it later).
  2. Hatch date — if you are not sure, enter the closest date; the age is calculated from it everywhere.
  3. At least one photo — from the camera or the gallery.
  4. Breed — from the encyclopedia list (260 breeds), not free text. If your breed is missing: "Request a new breed" and the admins review it.

Optional: sex · colour · ring number · parents · notes.

2. The live photo

The app has two photo slots: photos from the gallery and photos taken directly with the camera. A live photo is stamped with the actual time it was taken and shows that way in the bird's file — for a buyer that is a big difference from a photo that could be old or of another bird. Every photo is cropped in a fixed-ratio frame so the cards stay consistent.

3. Ring number ≠ registration number

  • The ring number is yours — optional, but if you enter it it must be unique across all of Ghuzar: no two birds with the same ring.
  • The registration number (GZ-P-…) is generated automatically and never changes — it is what goes on the bird's card, QR and certificates.

4. Private birds

From the bird's file ⇐ "Hide": the bird disappears from your public profile, search and competition results, and nobody sees it but you. Available on every plan. Useful for birds that are not for sale or that you are still preparing.

5. Editing and deleting

  • Edit from the bird's file ⇐ the pencil. The required fields are not enforced on edits (you can leave old data as it is).
  • Deleting is yours to do, but the app refuses if the bird is in a live auction, a pending ownership transfer, a running competition, or is a parent of other birds (the tree must not break). Deletion is soft — the admins can restore it if you ask.
  • A deceased bird should not be deleted — mark it "deceased": it stays in the pedigree tree with a tag, and its file becomes read-only.

6. Capacity

Each plan has a bird limit (live figures on the subscriptions page). When you reach it, the birds you have stay — you just can't add new ones without upgrading or deleting a bird.
