Part 6 of the complete Ghuzar guide. Auctions can be watched on the website too (auctions) — but bidding is done from the app.

1. Before you bid

  • The deposit: for any bid your wallet must cover 10% of your offer — it is frozen, not deducted, and returned if you are outbid or withdraw within the allowed time.
  • Read the auction policy document (once, from the auction screen) — it has the rules below in detail.

2. Bidding

Auction page ⇐ enter your offer (above the current one by at least the minimum shown) ⇐ confirm. The screen is live: any bid from someone else appears instantly without refreshing, and you get a notification if you are outbid.

3. The extension (anti-snipe)

Any bid in the last 30 seconds extends the auction by another 30 seconds — so nobody wins with a last-moment bid. The auction ends once 30 seconds pass with no bid.

4. Withdrawing

You can withdraw your offer freely before the last hour. In the last hour withdrawal is not allowed — your offer is binding.

5. The reserve price

The seller may set a hidden reserve price. If the auction ends below it, it is cancelled and all deposits are returned — no sale for less than the seller accepted.

6. When you win

  1. A win notification, and the auction appears under My won auctions.
  2. Pay the remaining amount from the wallet within the stated deadline (the deposit counts towards the price).
  3. The money goes into escrow for 48 hours, then is released to the seller.
  4. Ownership transfer of the bird happens after payment — the bird appears in your loft with its whole history.

7. How to run an auction

Bird's file ⇐ Sell by auction (requires a paid subscription): starting price · duration · optional reserve · the official snapshot. The auction goes through admin approval before it appears. One bird = one active auction. You can cancel before the first bid; after that the auction is binding.

Auctions are physical goods — so paying from the wallet is normal, not through Google Play.
