Meswed Khanafes

The short-faced Meswed. The author holds plainly that it is not a foundation house but arose from the Meswed being crossed into a great many other birds. The head comes from behind in a rotation with the neck, and from the front with an arch rather than a face plane. The beak is short and thick in ashkah — and it is the beak that gives the bird its character. Semi-round eye with a black pupil, olive iris, the olive-green ring being preferable; eyelids of medium thickness. Medium chest and musculature, not to the strength of the Meswed Balha, with smaller and finer legs. Body wholly lustrous black — occasionally matt, though lustre predominates — with white wing shield and tail; a few are found selt.
