Azraq Qateefa

One of the beautiful birds of the house, the product of crossing the Asfar with the Rihani — though in build it comes out closer to the Rihani. The body is a dark gold (tahini) washed with a blue tending to black; the neck a shade lighter, golden and lustrous, broad front and back; the wing shields, tail, back and underside in that same near-black blue; and the skull cap in the tahini gold. Its beak is the Rihani's but slightly shorter and very slightly finer, pale honey with dark shading, and its forehead sits higher than the Rihani's and lower than the Asfar's.
