Every bird on Ghuzar has one official record: a permanent registration number, photos, pedigree and ownership history. This guide walks you through it step by step, from opening the loft to printing the certificate.
1. Adding the bird
From the Loft page tap "Add bird". Required at registration:
- The bird's name and hatch date.
- At least one photo — a live photo from the camera is stored with the actual time it was taken, which gives buyers more confidence later.
- The breed from the encyclopedia (not free text) — so the data stays consistent and comparable.
- The ring number is optional, but if you enter one it must be globally unique: no two birds on Ghuzar share a ring number.
2. Ring number ≠ registration number
This is the most common mix-up:
- The ring number is entered by you, and a bird may have no ring at all.
- The registration number is generated by Ghuzar when the bird is added and stays fixed for the bird's whole life, even after ownership changes — it is what appears on certificates, QR codes and the bird's public page on the website.
3. The pedigree tree
You never type a pedigree by hand: when you register a breeding pair and add the squabs from the pair's page, each squab is linked to its parents automatically and shows up in the tree. A deceased bird stays in the tree marked "deceased" so its offspring keep their history. For the full picture on the tree and ownership transfer, see Pedigree tree and ownership transfer with QR.
4. Privacy
From the bird's page you can hide it from others, and from privacy settings you can hide the whole loft or your bird count. A hidden bird does not appear on the public website pages.
5. Ownership transfer
From the bird's page → Transfer ownership. The other party confirms from their account, and once confirmed a transfer certificate with a QR code is generated that opens a public verification page on ghuzar.com — anyone who scans it can see that the transfer is real and recorded.
6. The bird file (PDF)
Once the record is complete you can request the bird file PDF: identity card + pedigree + achievements, with a QR code that leads back to the bird's page. Requests are reviewed by the admins before generation.
Tip: register the core birds in your loft first (the pairs), then add squabs from each pair's page — that way the tree is built correctly from day one.
