The best known and most widely kept meat breed in the world. Compact short body, broad full breast and an upright carriage. Adult weight 900-1100 g, with show strains exceeding 1200 g. A pair produces roughly 10-14 squabs a year, marketed at 550-700 g. Developed from a blend of Runt, Homer, Maltese and Duchess stock.
