من أخطر وأكتر أمراض الحمام فتكًا، سببه طفيل أولي متحرك بالسوط، وموجود في الحمام البري والداجن على السواء. ممكن الوالدين ينقلوه للصغار عن طريق تغذية الحوصلة.

Symptoms

Throat swelling, yellow caseous growth in the mouth (pharyngeal form), possible difficulty swallowing/breathing.

Causes

طفيل أولي متحرك (Trichomonas gallinae)

Transmission

مياه الشرب الملوثة بين الطيور، وتغذية الوالدين للصغار (إفراز حليب الحوصلة).

Diagnosis

الفحص الإكلينيكي للآفات المميزة في الفم والحلق، وممكن فحص مجهري لمسحة من الآفة.

Treatment

Ridzol soluble powder (flock treatment in water) or Ronidazole tablets (individual); metronidazole/carnidazole as alternatives.

Prevention

Regular clean drinking water, routine flock checks, isolate symptomatic birds immediately.
