عدوى فيروسية تصيب الجهاز التنفسي والهضمي وأحيانًا الكبد، وبتظهر غالبًا عند ضعف مناعة الطائر أو وجود إجهاد. من الفيروسات اللي بتترك حاملين مزمنين بدون أعراض ظاهرة.

Symptoms

Pharyngitis/esophagitis (sometimes necrotizing), diphtheritic membranes, neurologic signs, green droppings, anorexia, hepatic necrosis in severe cases.

Causes

فيروس الهيربس الخاص بالحمام (Columbid herpesvirus 1)

Transmission

تلامس مباشر مع طيور مصابة أو حاملة، وانتقال عبر الإفرازات التنفسية والفموية.

Diagnosis

الفحص النسيجي (أجسام تضمين داخل النواة)، عزل الفيروس، أو PCR عند توفره؛ التفريق مهم عن الأدينوفيروس والباراميكسو لتشابه بعض الأعراض.

Treatment

No specific antiviral treatment; supportive care, antibiotics for secondary infection, immune support.

Prevention

Reduce stress/overcrowding, quarantine new birds, regular loft hygiene, isolate symptomatic birds.
